Honorable Delegates, Directors, Student officers, admins, and all the participants in KISMUN 2022.
My name is Hyorim Choi, and It is my absolute pleasure to serve all of you as the president of UNEP, the United Nations Environment Programme.
I have experienced MUN since grade 8, when I signed up for the after-class with the curiosity of how MUN works. My initial step toward the MUN was not straightforward, as I had concerns and a fear of speaking in front of people. Also, I hesitated a lot when it came to my turn to make some POIs, worrying about my flawed question and other delegates would look down on me. I believe many students who have participated in KISMUN would also witness a similar situation. I just want you to know that getting one step away from all concerns and hesitations will dramatically interchange you with someone else, who can be encouraged to speak and enjoy debate. In addition, you are not the only one who finds it difficult to speak with high confidence.
Therefore, I want to suggest that you speak more and participate more passionately. Everyone starts with having difficulties, which should be covered with experiences. Practice and confidence is the most effective solution to make you become a much better delegate. Furthermore, MUN is all about having fun. If you can enjoy it, then it is your time to EXPERIENCE YOUR EXCELLENCE.

Honorable delegates, distinguished student officers, and guests,
I am Yeojin and it is my utmost honor to serve you all in the United Nations Environmental Programme KISMUN2022 as the Head Chair. Welcome to KISMUN2022
I’d like to start by tracing back my memory of the first MUN conference three years ago which didn’t start that well. At the time, I had a hard time figuring out what people in front of the podium were talking about and how the debate was going on. I considered backing down because of the overwhelming fear and the feeling of isolation, but I didn’t.
Since then, I have challenged myself by attending a number of MUN after school classes, reading a couple of news articles on a daily basis. Finally, I am here as one of the members of LDP and serving you guys as a Head Chair in UNEP. And I am so glad that such a great opportunity just came to me.
Delegates, it is fine to hesitate from making speeches and POIs in the conference, submitting amendments, or freely interacting with other delegates. Making mistakes doesn’t matter at all since we are all here to learn, and to make precious memories. Not only that, there are chairs with numerous experiences to serve you with their full support. However, one thing I would like to point out is that you won’t be able to obtain anything from a MUN conference if you don’t attempt participating in it.
Delegates, I can confidently declare that KISMUN2022 will be more hilarious than ever. Therefore, I would fervently recommend that you should all try out. Always be reminded that there is no one who can blame you for any reason. Even the chairs have no right to do so. You are precious, capable, talented, and you are deserving of respect. The floor is all yours. I wish we all have a thrilling time to experience your excellence.
