President- WON JOON KIM

Honorable delegates, directors, and all of you participating in KISMUN 2022, My name is Won Joon Kim, and it is my pleasure to serve you delegates as the President of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

I'd like to briefly discuss my MUN experience and offer some basic advice before sharing my aspirations for KISMUN 2022. It was in the year of 2019, when I initially started attending my first MUN conference. In fact, throughout my entire 10th MUN conference, handling the stress of delivering a lecture in front of other delegates and attempting to produce successful replications by analyzing others' POIs was still challenging, which is why I would appreciate the delegate’s hardship of participating in KISMUN2022. It is reasonable that the topics can become so challenging that you want to stop researching or quit, but please don't worry about it and just give it a shot! It doesn't matter what better country you represent or which side you’re in an advantageous position in any given situation. What counts is your concentration and diligence in order to deliver a strong, convincing argument and feel appreciated across the conference. One thing I've learned from participating in debates and serving delegates' as a chair is that if you give it your all and maintain your enthusiasm and boldness, the outcome will reflect your struggles.

Unlike last year, I am personally really satisfied and pleased that we can finally meet you delegates in person at the MUN conference. I'm glad that we can contribute to a proper and exciting MUN with you at the UNCTAD committee, which covers a wide range of intriguing issues..

We anticipate observing a substantial quantity of mutual respect and eager participation while having a proper discussion. The entire LDP will participate on your behalf by taking the initiative and providing enlightened advice to make sure there are no difficulties or complications. Do your absolute best above and beyond what you can handle.

Sincerely,

Kim Won Joon President of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development,

KISMUN2022

Head Chair- CHU MI PARK

Honorable directors, student officers, administrative staff, press teams, guests, and esteemed delegates,

Hello, hi, nice to meet you all!!! I’m Park Chu Mi, and I am incredibly privileged and grateful to serve you as the deputy chair of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Council.

I first started my MUN career in 9th grade and I still clearly remember the excitement that I had when taking the MUN beginner and advanced class. However, it was just like a temporary spark because after taking the classes, I got insecure, a lot. My insecurities came from my comparison with other delegates that were so much good at debating than I did, with astonishing English speaking skills and the amount of knowledge and intelligence they had that could never be compared to mine. I was ready to give up before even trying.

Then a thought came to my mind. The delegates, the people who were debating with me had to research such an enormous amount of information, had to invest their time practicing their speaking and writing their resolution, and had to experience all the hardships and stresses from MUN in order to perform sophisticatedly and confidently at the conference. If I gave up now, I would never, never ever be able to experience the wonderful feeling of dopamine-releasing during MUN and gain the sense of feeling that I can also do this nerve-wracking MUN, that anything is possible if I believe I can do it.

So, the floor is now once again open. Are there any delegates wishing to speak?

Although I still made dozens of mistakes, joining MUN with abundant preparation gave me a whole new feeling. I did not just feel a temporary spark that vanished so fastly, but I felt boiling excitement through my adrenaline. As a person with this experience, I want to advise you to research and read about the topic as much as possible, and I sincerely hope you will be able to experience your excellency at this MUN conference just like I did in mine. Ask us chairs anytime for help because we are delighted to assist you, and we believe in you.

Sincerely,

Chu Mi Park

Deputy chair of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, KISMUN 2022.

Deputy Chair- MINYEONG PARK

Honorable delegates, directors, and all participants of KISMUN 2022,

My name is Park Min Yeong, and it is an honor for me to serve you as the head chair of UNCTAD

The first time I started MUN was 4 years ago, but now it is my last KISMUN as an LDP. MUN, which I started with a lot of burdens at first, is now a thing that cannot be left out when I think of my middle and high school.

For me, just as this KISMUN is the last one, it could be the first one for someone, it could be the second or the third one for someone. I hope this conference, which is created by people with various experiences and thoughts about MUN, will serve as an opportunity for everyone to grow.

What I felt during my four years at MUN was that no one could do well from the beginning. All delegates may hesitate or feel pressured to speak at first. You must be worried that you might be worse than others or that you might speak wrong. However, I hope you remember that all the LDP members, including me, have gone through the process you went through. All of us make mistakes and get lost. It's just a natural process for you for the next step, so I hope you do not worry too much and do not compare yourself with others.

I hope you will not hesitate, and make this KISMUN an opportunity to expand your thoughts and develop. Most of all, enjoy yourself as much as you can. I hope that KISMUN 2022 will be a page of your school life that will remain precious. I am looking forward to meeting you at the conference.

Sincerely,

Minyeong Park

Head Chair of UNCTAD
