Secretary general- JUHYEONG SONG

Honorable delegates, student organizers, directors, and guests. Welcome to KISMUN 2022. This is Juhyeong Song, serving you as the Secretary-General of this year’s conference.

Honestly, even for me MUN was something so scary and nervous. At my first conference, I made one POI during the 3-day schedule. However, as I visited more and more debates, and now as a Secretary General, I can confidently tell you guys that MUN is not about making POIs that no one can answer, nor making a speech that no one can refute. It is very natural that sometimes we won't be able to answer some questions and might be afraid to talk in front of others.

But remember to never give up. We are not ever genius all by ourselves. Allow yourself to change at all times. Staying still hoping things would get better won't help at all.

We deserve bigger dreams. I truly hope that this conference to help you experience your excellence.

Best regards,

Juhyeong Song

Secretary General of KISMUN 2022

Deputy secretary general- DA IN HA

Esteemed chairs, student officers, and fellow delegates,

Welcome to KISMUN 2022.

I am Da In Ha and it is my great honor, indeed a great pleasure, to serve you as a deputy secretary general for the next three days of the conference. Retracing to the time of my first step towards MUN, which was MUN summer school 2020, I couldn’t speak out my claims confidently on the podium. I wasn’t really sure if I will keep going on with this MUN. However, 3 days of KISMUN in that year have totally changed my mind. Surprisingly now, only 2 years have passed and I am serving you as the deputy secretary general.

Delegates, not only is this a remarkable opportunity for you to experience for yourself the pressures, and rewards that result from discussing within this unique system that we call the United Nations. I truly understand how nervous it is to speak in front of people, and understand how shivering it is to argue against other delegates. I felt exactly the same way in my first MUN. However, I want to tell you that it is just a part of your whole process toward your whole advancement. Don’t worry about the failures or mistakes, just be courageous and leap forward. I’m sure that then one day, you will see yourself claiming with no concerns in front of plenty of people.

I genuinely wish you could enjoy the next three days and experience your excellence.

Sincerely,

Da In Ha,

Deputy Secretary General of KISMUN 2022

Deputy secretary general- TAE HYUN KIM

Greetings, highly honored fellow participants of KISMUN 2022.

My name is Tae Hyun Kim and it is beyond my greatest honor to serve every one of you as the Deputy Secretary General.

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

This quote from the distinguished nun and Nobel peace prize winner of 1979, Mother Teresa, was what gave me inspiration when I was struggling in my past conferences. In 2018, when I first attended KISMUN, I was discouraged that what I do for 3 days at a conference doesn’t mean a big deal. I didn’t make full advantage of my first conference, hardly speaking up.

But as I started to participate in more MUNs, and watched delegates express their ideas, I realized an important idea I was missing. What we put our efforts into MUN ‘does’ really means something. Every POI we make, every speech we listen to, and every idea we put in a resolution all have a big influence. What we do changes people’s minds, what we do makes people think about things, and what we do is speak up in front of a group of people, small amounts, but what can be a start? But it’s not only that. What we do evaluates ourselves. Our POIs, our answers, our speeches, and the time we spent trying to write a good resolution will stay with us. It will make us develop our communication, it will give us the confidence to start speaking, and it will be the foundation of every choice we make in the future.

We are World Changers of the New Generation, and change comes from casting a stone. Don’t be afraid of your actions. Speak up, express your ideas, communicate with others, cast a stone; and enjoy what you’re doing.

I want KISMUN 2022 to be a flame that will ignite your passion, a stepping stone that will guide you to harmony in diversity, the wings to fly beyond your limits, and a new chance to experience your excellence.

Thank you and have a nice 3 days.

Tae Hyun Kim

Deputy Secretary General, KISMUN2022
